Dan Rather Got Away With His Racist Remark!

This morning Dan Rather was so transparent as to his dislike of the President and his policies that he couldn't hide it. Dan was on such an anti-Obama mission that he said the President couldn't sell watermelon to? what, I don't know, because Chris Matthews tried to cut him off by talking deliberately over him with success. Dan just had such a rabbit look in his eyes while his mouth was in such a weird frown that I literally expected foam to come from it.

I tried to pull up the link but I guess the video isn't out yet of The Chris Matthews Show this morning. Dan needs to be terminated from HDNet and from the Matthews show. I'm hoping the network don't attempt to expunge the tape, wow, I am still stunned that this man used a racist, stereotypical comment that's lodged often at blacks, toward the President. Supporters do your own research and expose this unprofessional so called journalist.

Oh yea we heard it my wife and I just looked at each other and said at the same time did he just say that! Chris Matthews just cut him off like he does so well.

It's very possible that Chris Matthews and the network may try to remove Rathers remark from the transcript and video when they release it. I will absolutely be calling for some kind of action to be taken toward Dan Rather. He absolutely knows better, but I think his disdain for Obama got the best of him. Can you imagine what kind of racial remarks he make in private. Although I am a Obama supporter, my discontent with Dan Rather comment is truly about the principle.

dan rather is a tool. I was a manager of a book store in an airport in new york. And his book sold very well for a time, but after a while it fell off the top ten lists altogether. As soon as it became number 11 i replaced it in the front of store with the new number ten. This is when the great Mr Rather walked in and said how dare i not have his book in front of the store. I told him its prominently displayed in the section but as it was no longer a bestseller , it was moved off the bestseller display. He huffed and whined like an adolescent girl until i put his book back in the front of store. He then walked out with some condescending remarks and with a i think who i am attitude. Of course I took all the copies of his book off the shelf completely the next day and buried them in the stock room, and whenever it was requested i gladly went and retrieved a copy , but not before telling the story which in 100 percent of the cases resulted in the customer not purchasing his book but another i talked up while bashing mr rather's lol. Dan rather is rather full of himself and i believe his watermelon reference was a freudian slip, in that his brain thinks in that way but for once it slipped out into the real world. Btw when my company put it on its returns list i still had six cases of his books. =)

I also agree with your assessment of the double standard, but neither of us should let it pass, which is why I will be calling the network about Rathers racial remark today.

Rather's racial remark shows how out of touch the aged one is: I had to Internet search to discover why it was racist or racial. He is an old school Dem!

The reason his remark has not caused such a stir is because it was on Chris Matthews show which must have even lower ratings in syndication than his Hardball on MSNBC and the cable access channel with the week's school lunch menu.

    nobody heard it cause nobody watches that bag of fluff! But what he said was true....but he (Dan R) could have used something less racist and he should be reprimanded although I doubt he will be! Obama is just as out of touch as Dan Rather!

      That's not the point catherine-1669560! Why is Rather given a pass when anytime the right make a racist comment about the President it at least make to MSNBC for ridicule.

        I tried MSNBC TV for Chris's show, and it isn't there either. It is being well and truly scrubbed. Dan Rather has been around a long time and has powerful friends.
